For me this place says holiday more than most beach restaurants in Barcelona. An oasis away from the busiest part of Barcelona´s beach & settled beneath the W Hotel you´ll find
El Gallito Restaurant.

Green vines cover the pergolas on the outside terrace which is moments from the sea and the colourful cushions and long chunky wooden tables make the perfect setting for a calm, delicious, group lunch with friends. The smaller tables also set the scene for a romantic lunch for two.
The options for food are surprisingly varied, ranging from tapas style fish tacos to the more traditional paella as well as fish and chips & hamburgers. With great wine, and amazing lemon pie puddings this place ticks all the boxes for a group lunch by the sea.
We went last weekend with my good friends from home. I chose it because I´ve always loved the choice of food & thought it´d be nice to be down the quieter end of the beach, but also for my friend´s 2 year old who likes a run on the beach and a bit of pebble throwing of course! We booked well in advance and asked for a table outside. Instead of ordering individual dishes (some of us were a little jaded and couldn´t cope with choosing for ourselves!) we ordered loads of tapas / starter dishes to share. I recommend the fish tacos with cilantro mayonnaise, sea bass ceviche and the lobster stew with rice.

Tips:
- If you book online, make sure you receive an email confirmation. I had to call to confirm our table.
- Also, if you book a table outside and it rains on the day, they can´t always guarantee you´ll have a table inside.
- After lunch, walk across to the sand and have a cocktail listening to chilled music at the Salt Bar.
